Help on the Farm!

Volunteer for 2022  (filled for the season as of 5/10/22)

Work one, half-day per week in the garden in trade for a full CSA share.  This is a great, low pressure way to spend time with us in the garden!  If you’re interested in volunteering next season (2023), email us!

We have volunteer teams two days a week, Mondays and Thursdays, from 9 am – 1 pm,  late-May through the end of September.  This season starts on 5/23 for Monday people and 5/26 for the Thursday people (but we can be flexible here, reach out with your needs!).  You choose which day works best for you to come regularly.  We are looking for people who can commit to their shift for the whole season, but don’t expect anyone to be available every single week.  We can be flexible with your summer schedule, just let us know your needs and availability.  If you have a teacher’s schedule, we would still love to have you, and can talk more about how your summer break works with our season.

In trade for your time a dedication, we give you a full CSA share, plus extras when available.

Bring your kids (we have a shade hut and a trampoline in the field to keep them occupied, must be at least 4 years old and able to hang without you for chunks of time), but please not your dogs.

We mostly will be weeding the garden and harvesting during the volunteer time.  Please be aware that the work requires squatting for extended periods of time, so you need your knees and back on board 😉

Part-Time Harvest Help (filled for 2022):

We are currently looking to hire three field hands for 2022.   We need help weeding the garden, harvesting produce, and processing the food for our market outlets.  Looking for folx who love to work outdoors, can squat for hours, have good attention to detail, like to share about gardening and eating, and can handle our very specific but few hours each week.

The job is two days per week, Tuesday and Friday, from 8 am – 2 pm,  mid-May to early-October.  We work hard, but always have a great time with our staff!  It is mostly field work (lots of squatting in the rows, in all of the conditions), and some washing and processing work.  Must have reliable transportation to the farm east of Bayfield, and be available for the duration of the season (time off negotiable with notice).

Help at our Market Booth (filled for 2022):

We are hiring for a fun and excited market assistant on Saturdays at the Durango Farmers Market.  Help us at our booth from 7:45 -11:15 am, and receive a stipend, all the veg you need, and market breakfast in trade for your time, positive and friendly attitude, and attention to detail.  Must be outgoing, good with cash handling, and cool under pressure.  The market season goes from mid May through the end of October.  We would love if you could commit to the whole season, and understand if you can’t make it every Saturday, we can grant some (a few) weekends off.  Email Emily if you are interested:  homegrownbiodynamics@gmail.com

We sure look forward to working with you!
